Watermelon Green Tea Cooler

WATERMELON GREEN TEA COOLER Its too hot to survive in this climate. whenever i used to have a chance i take all watery fruits and vegetables that make my body cool and hydrated. As its summer and its watermelon season thought of trying some cooler with healthier option. Decided to combine with green tea. I really loved the flavour the green tea and watermelon didnt even add honey to it.....just loved it. Ingredients: Fresh watermelon Juice-half a cup freshly brewed Green tea-half a cup chilled honey if wanted Method: Mix the freshly brewed green tea which is chilled and fresh watermelon juice. If you are sweet addict add honey to it. Serve chilled or if you like it warm take it. Nutritional Info: The goodness of watermelon and green tea with less calories.....Weight watchers can replace this with usual plain green tea.

OOTHAPPAM

Oothappam is the slightly obese version of dosa....You can create lots of toppings for oothappams with your imagination...... ONION OOTHAPPAM Ingredients: Idly or dosa batter which is slightly sour (i generally use same batter which i prepare for idly) (idly/dosa all puirpose batter Parboiled rice-4cups urad dhal-1 cup(depending on dhal type) methy seeds-1 to 1 1/2 tsp salt soak all and grind and let it ferment till they increase the size. For this hot climate i think it will ferment so easily.) toppings: onions chopped carrots chopped or grated green chillies chopped oil as needed Method: Heat the tawa in a low heat. Pour a batter to make thicker version of dosa. immediately top the ingredients. Add oil on the top of the dosa and toppings. cook in low flame and cook with lid. Then turn and cook for a minute till onions are into golden colour. Tadaaaaaa.....your tasty oothappam is ready. Serve hot with sambar, coconut chutney, or coriander, or red chutney or

TOMATO ORANGE JUICE

The temperature is rising like a hell and we need lots of energy and coolness to face it. We also needs nourishments to our skin. Herecomes one of my favourite summer special juice which will nourish , gives freshness and energy. TOMATO ORANGE JUICE Ingredients: Tomato fully riped-1 big Orange- 1 Sugar or honey -as needed Icecubes Method: Blend tomato and orange(remove seeds and skin) in a juicer with sugar or honey. Serve immediately with icecubes or serve chilled. If you delay sometimes the orange might make the juice bitter or unwanted taste.  Nutritional Info: Gives refreshement and freshness. Full of antioxident, Vitamin C and Vitamin A, caroteins and calories. After a long hot day if you take it immediately you will feel the freshness. One of my favourite as its good for skin too with its healing property from Vitamin C.

PEAS POTATO PORIAL

PEAS AALU PORIAL Ingredients: Potato-200gms Dried or fresh Peas-100gms salt as needed chilli powder as needed approximately 1 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp oil as needed coriander leaves chopped-1 tbsp Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp Asofoetida/Hing- a pinch Tomato chopped-2tbsp Onions chopped- 2tbsp Turmeric powder a pinch Method: Boil potatoes, peel and cut into cubes. If you are using dry peas soak it for 1 to 2 hrs and boil and keep it otherwise fresh means you can use as such. Heat pan and put a tbsp of oil and let mustard pop out in that. Fry Onion till golden brown and add tomatoes and fry and add ginger garlic paste, turmeric pinch, asofoetida and saute till raw smell goes. Then add potato cubes,boiled or fresh peas, salt, chilli powder and fry till the raw smell goes and the potatoes are lightly crispy. Nutritional Info: Everyone loves potatoes. METHI PULAV WITH RAITHA

Ingredients: Tomato-1 tbsp chopped onion-1/2 cup chopped Methi(dried or fresh)-1/4cup Garam Masala-1 tsp peanuts-1 tbsp raw  rice-1.5 cups salt as needed oil as`needed cumin powder-1 tsp coriander powder-1/2 tsp chilli powder-as needed-1 tsp depending on spiciness coriander chopped-2 tbsp green chilli-3 nos depending on spicy cloves-4 nos cinnamon-1/2 inch Method: Soak rice in water for half an hour. Heat oil in a pan. Put mustard seeds and let it pop. Add onion and fry till transparent and towards golden brown and add cloves and cinnamon.. Then add tomatoes and fry nicely, add methy leaves and saute. Then add garam masala, green chilli, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, little coriander, salt, and fry till the raw smell leaves. Add peanuts. Cook all the prepared masala with rice. Once the rice is cooked serve hot with boondhi raitha or onion raitha. Note: If you want the crispy feel you can add peanuts during serving time. Peanut can be substitut
